Expanding on the Foundational Trauma Care class, TACTIC’s Advanced Trauma Care class expands on what has already been learned and adds additional skills to better prepare you for the worst-case scenario. Scenarios like active shooters, evacuation scenarios, medications, and more.
What you will learn:
-Safety discussion and patient triage
-MARCH touchup (learned in Foundational Trauma Care)
-Evacuation
-Medication use
-Chest decompression
-Wound packing
-Splinting (how to make a splint, checking CMS before and after splinting)
-MARCH flow on casualty
-Wide variety of real-world scenarios for students to work through as a team.
TACTIC’s Advanced Trauma Care class is very hands-on with lots of scenarios including fake blood, and simulated street and low-light conditions. Students must bring clothing that allows for dynamic movement and be exposed to water-soluble blood.
Whether it is walking to your car late at night or working with someone who makes you uncomfortable…. we all have those moments when we need to make a split-second decision. Knowing how criminals think, what they say to profile a victim, and learning how to “trust your gut” – can mean the difference between violence and victory. Participants receive effective and realistic training to recognize and counter predatory behavior and assault from certified instructors whose goal is to empower men & women against violence and the fear of violence.
Here is what students are saying:
“Life-changing! Everyone should take this class!”
“I left feeling so empowered!”
“Far better than any typical self-defense course!”
This course is recommended for men and women 13 and older.
Disclaimer:
If you have been a victim of a violent crime, please be aware that this class is hands-on, and can be triggering. Victims who have taken this class have found it helpful and are happy they came, but some of them experienced added difficulty of working through trauma. If you have any concerns, please email or call us.
"KNIFE DEFENSE is TACTIC's combatives course and is one of the most empowering courses we teach!" says Chris Forrest, owner of TACTIC and former Navy SEAL. It's high adrenaline - high value, but don't let that intimidate you - this class is for all levels and recommended for ages 13+ and above.
TACTIC training is different because the training always happens under stress, a process called forging. All courses focus on building habits that will not degrade under stress. More importantly, students learn critical thinking skills to evaluate and implement safe courses of action in varying situations. Especially in KNIFE DEFENSE, each skill is layered one upon the other systematically so that at the end of this class, you will succeed in facing a threat in a red man suit with a shock knife!
This material is founded on statistics-based research and focuses on what is real and what works. It teaches both how to defend against knife attacks with bare hands, and also how to defend against attacks by using a knife yourself. The class covers the fundamentals of fighting with and defending against an edge weapon with emphasis on the “stalking” phase of a knife attack which is more common for civilians.
Participants receive effective and realistic training to counter edged weapon assaults from certified instructors. Knife Defense is based on combat proven systems and one of the most effective foundations for knife self-defense techniques. Training consists of 5-6 hours of classroom and physical exercises. The physical segments of this class can be strenuous and the subject material is inherently violent.
Now standardized into a one day course focuses on using force-on-force training in our shoot house. Learning how to make your home a hard target, utilize deliberate clearing methods, and to how to deal with threats to your home and safety!
This course utilizes our on-site shoot house and simunition during force-on-force training scenarios.
Firearm and Simunition are included in the cost of the course. We also offer a 2 day Close Quarter Combat class for law enforcement, military and security minded individuals.
Handgun I is not a prerequisite for this course, although it will help to have taken it before. There is a 4-student minimum, and we do frequently sell out before class date!
